Amelia Gobble Harrison

Thomson, GA- Ms. Amelia Gobble Harrison, 67, of Cobbham Rd. entered into rest August 19, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. David Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be members of the Thomson Fire Department.

Ms. Harrison was born in Washington, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Henry Joe Gobble and the late Rebecca Strother Gobble. She worked with McDuffie County Civil Defense  and retired from the Thomson Fire Department as secretary after many years of service. Ms. Harrison attended First Baptist Church, Thomson and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was also a member of God's Golden Girls.

Survivors include her son, Jay Harrison and wife, Audrey of Thomson; daughter, Becky Cowart and husband, Robbie of Rincon; sisters, Pat Thornton and husband, Billy of Washington, Linda Reese and husband, Bobby of Thomson; grandchildren, Harrison Cowart, Addison Cowart and Hayden Cowart. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Reid.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
