Alline Fair Newman, 98, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2024.
Alline was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma, grew up in Marble, North Carolina and lived there for many years and has lived in McDuffie County for about 15 years. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. Alline had lived a long and fruitful life as a homemaker and serving her Church and her Lord. She enjoyed knitting, word puzzles, flower gardening, painting by number, and loved spending time with her friends and family.
Mrs. Newman is preceded in death by her husband Roy W. Newman; her parents, Grover Cleveland Fair and Edna Ann Thomason Fair; her brothers, Bill Fair, Wilbur Fair and Bobby Fair; and her sisters, Norma Fair Curdee and Vadean Devers;. Her survivors include her sons, Larry Newman (Esther) and Ronnie Newman (Sara); her grandchildren, Thad Newman (Rebecca), Jaclin Overstreet (Isaac), and Amanda Newman; and great grandchildren, Bruce Wayne, Isaiah, Addelynn Ann and Abbigail Overstreet and Jana and Parker Newman.
A Memorial Service is being held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia, with Rev. Reginald Blakewood and Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. A graveside committal and interment at Moss Cemetery, Marble, North Carolina will be scheduled.
