Mrs. Alice Marie Sampson Lambert, 81 of Hwy. 220 W entered into rest on Wednesday, June 25 th at her residence.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Lincolnton City Cemetery.
with Rev. Barbara Grace officiating.
Mrs. Lambert, daughter of the late Loranzo and Hazel Ward Sampson was born on March 18, 1933 in the small town of Jonesville, in the Appalachian region of Virginia, She was one of thirteen children who grew up on the small family farm during The Great Depression. When she was seventeen, her family moved to Ohio and year later, in 1951, she married Howard "Gene" Lambert.
In 1982, her husband's career in printing moved them to the Augusta area and they settled in Lincoln County. Her childhood made her exceptionally aware of the love for family, gardening and providing a loving home for her family and providing friendship to her neighbors.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Earl Sampson, Willard Sampson, Ervine Sampson, and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Taylor.
