Alice "Rae" Higginbottom
Dearing, GA- Mrs. Alice "Rae" Higginbottom, 79, of Hobbs Road, entered into rest November 18, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Higginbottom, born in Augusta, Georgia , but lived in Dearing since 1973, was the daughter of the late Robert Neal Brown and Evelyn Scoggins Brown. Alice graduated high school and went on to Augusta College School of Nursing where she graduated in 1973 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She later returned to college and graduated from Medical College of Georgia in 1992 with a Bachelors of Science. Mrs. Higginbottom was retired from the V.A. Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She served in the National Guard as captain of the MASH unit. Alice was known as "Rae" and loved to travel to Edisto Beach with her family, she loved her family and grandchildren, playing card games and watching movies. Mrs. Higginbottom was predeceased by her late husband James Russell Higginbottom.
Survivors include her husband Ronald McCorkle; three sons, Chris Higginbottom (Melesia), Robby Higginbottom (Brandi), and Travis McCorkle; six grandchildren, Caroline Higginbottom, Joshua Higginbottom, Abigail Higginbottom, Riley Higginbottom, Gauge McCorkle, and Skyler Purvis.
A private celebration of life service will be held.
