Alfred "Al" Don Faulkner

Mr. Alfred Don Faulkner, 70, Harlem, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 24, 2022, at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.

Alfred was born in Jackson, Tennessee on September 6, 1951, and raised in Walnut, Mississippi, Macon, Georgia and Avera, Georgia.  He graduated from Lanier Senior High School in Macon in 1969.  After a long career with the State Hospital System, he became a truck driver in 1989 and worked in that profession as long as he was able.  He was an avid fisherman, fond of classic television and enjoyed being in the mountains.  Alfred especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joseph L. Faulkner and Molly Avera Faulkner of Appling, Georgia and his brother, Lamar Faulkner, of San Antonio, Texas.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Zane Hardin Faulkner; his children, Valerie Bentley (Steven) of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, Benjamin Faulkner, of Harlem and Kimberly Kelly (Kevin) of Pooler, Georgia; his sister, Carol Morris of Martinez, Georgia and his brother, Walter Glenn Faulkner of Bluefield, West Virginia; his grandchildren, Zachary and Natalie Bentley of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at Beggs Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Avera, Georgia in Jefferson County, with Rev. Danny Harrell of Madison, Georgia officiating.
