Rev. Albert Morgan Stroup, 95, husband of Hazel Mullis Stroup, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Albert was a loving husband, father and brother.  His greatest joy in life was his Lord and Savior and his family.  He was born in Cochran, Georgia on August 10, 1927,, has served the Lord as a minister since 1955 in many congregations in the area and has lived in the Thomson area since 2011.  He also served his Country in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S. Hancock during World War II.  Albert enjoyed music, playing the fiddle and piano by ear and continuous study of his Bible and especially loved his family and friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, William Alexander Stroup and Ella W. NeSmith Stroup; his daughter, Patricia Herring (Her husband Bill) and all of his siblings, except his sister.  In addition to his loving wife for 75 years, Hazel Mullis Stroup, survivors include his sons, Jimmy Stroup (Beverly) of Waycross and Randy Stroup (Terrie) of Grovetown, Georgia; his daughters, Linda Seay (John) of Thomson, Georgia and Donna Bargeron (Jim) of Augusta, Georgia; his sister, Martha Connell; his sister-in-law, Martha Stroup; his grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.  His Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel following the visitation.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Lloyd Green, Rev. David Brooks and Dr. Gene Youngblood.  A private interment for family only will follow the service.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
