Mrs. Addie Sue Norman Talbert, 90 of White Rock Rd., entered into rest on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Talbert, daughter of the late George Erwin and Lucy Heard Norman, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. During her childhood, she attended Midway Elementary School through seventh grade and graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1944. Following graduation, she attended Bessie Tift College from 1944-45, married George Dewey "G.D." Talbert, Jr. on February 21, 1946 and was employed by Oxford Industries where she retired after 26 years of service. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church for over 70 years where she had served as children's Sunday School teacher, president of the UMW, church historian, and served on numerous committees.  Her family stated that, "Ma" as she was affectionately known, enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, genealogy, and teaching her grandchildren how to cook.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Talbert McWhorter, and husband, Fred of Lincolnton, Ga.,  Sandra Talbert Marlow and husband, Duane of Roopville, Ga., Carol Sue Talbert Williams, of Lincolnton, Ga.; son, George Norman Talbert and wife, Mary Lee of Lincolnton, Ga., grandchildren, Sally M. Davis and husband, Sean, Ben F. McWhorter and wife, Cathy, Susan E. McWhorter, Heather L. Marlow, Brandon K. Marlow and wife, Allison, Amy T. Bell and husband, Mike, Dax N. Talbert,  Monica T. Holley, and husband, Tommie, Tripp J. Williams, and wife, Anna, Edie W. Fox and husband, Kyle, Emily A. Williams; 14 great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and her cat, "Ma's Baby." In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey "G.D." Talbert, Jr., grandson, Jacob Talbert Walton and her brother, Thomas Erwin Norman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, c/o Bruce Rowland, 2575 Bethany Church Rd., Lincolnton, Ga. 30817.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 2 pm at Bethany United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday evening at Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA
