Abraham Hirsch Wengrow

Mr. Wengrow, son of the late Joseph and Annie Wengrow was a native of Williston, SC later moved toWashington, Ga. He graduated from Washington High School in 1941. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII from 1943-46 serving in the 344th Quarter Master Corp. After marrying Ettie Rose Shatz in January 1946, they later moved to Lincolnton and established Goldman and Wengrow, "Lincolnton's Oldest and Largest Department Store." More recently, he has been the recipient of many honors such as 1st Grand Marshal of the Lincolnton Holiday Parade 1996. 2006 Business of the Year Award by Lincolnton- Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wengrow was a member of the Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, the American Legion #194, VFW-Post 3200 in Augusta, and the Lincolnton Masonic Lodge #354.
