Aaron Johnson
William Aaron Johnson, 72, entered into rest on May 17, 2015 in Warrenton, Georgia.
Aaron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita Johnson, of Warrenton, two sons, J. Aaron Johnson (Patrice) of Augusta and Brian Johnson (Anna) of Anderson, SC; his brother, Alton Johnson (Jo) and sister Laura Mae Price (Harold) both of Warrenton. He has five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Willie Johnson of Warrenton, and sister, Patsy Johnson Pearson.
Aaron was born on December, 28, 1942, and was a lifelong dairy farmer and third generation owner of Jim Pat Plantation. He was a loving husband, father and "Papa" to his grandchildren. He was an active member of Mesena United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a generous person and true friend.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with interment at Westview Cemetery. Reverend Rick Herring will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Bill McCord, Richard Clark, John Pearson, Keith Price, Pete Pearson, Tyler Johnson and Jimmy Harden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mesena United Methodist Church, the GRU Cancer Center, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Huda Salman, the physicians, nurses and staff at the GRU Cancer Center and GRHealth 5 South and 5 North for the compassionate loving care that they provided during his battle with Leukemia. Thanks also to CareSouth of Sandersville, Hospice Advantage of Augusta, and his caregiver, Meecie Lucas.
Friends may call at the residence, 299 Jimmy Johnson Road, Warrenton, Georgia, or from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA.
