Wendell D. Davis
Thomson, GA. – Mr. Wendell D. Davis, 75, of Cedar Rock Rd. went home to be with his Lord on May 9, 2017.
Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, GA and the son of the late Odell Davis and the late Inez Hobbs Davis. He worked in various positions for Coca-Cola in McDuffie County and surrounding counties and retired after 42 years. He was a Baptist by faith, and he loved his family, the outdoors, gardening, the Atlanta Braves and Nascar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Davis and two sisters, Mary Frances Hyman, and Barbara Shelton.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Betty Davis; daughter, Vonnie Deak of Augusta, GA.; brother, Phil Davis (Vickie); sisters, Doris Reese (Roy), Phyllis Shedd (A.T.) all of Thomson, GA; and grandchildren, Ashley Hammac (Christopher) of Dearing, GA, Anna Bilbo (Brian) of Columbus, Mississippi, Antonio Andrini, Andre Andrini and Angelo Andrini (Devin) all of Pueblo, Colorado; great grandchildren, Hayli Hammac, Alivia Hammac and Sophya Hammac; special cousin Linda Jurney of Martinez, GA; many nieces and nephews and his dog and companion, “Buddy” .
Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Larron Pilgrim officiating.
The family would like to thank Regency Hospice - especially Amy Cranford, Gwen Kitchens, and LaCole Sneed - for the excellent care given to Mr. Davis during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
