Mrs. Vivian Davis Hanks, 82 of Baker Davis Rd., Lincolnton entered into rest on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington, Ga.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1 pm at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hanks, daughter of the late William C. and Doris Maynard Davis, was born on June 20, 1936 in Lincoln County, graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1956 and was employed by Southern Bell as a telephone operator where she retired after 35 years and two months of service. She attended Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church and the Church of God in Lincolnton had a strong faith in God and a Pentecostal background. Her hobbies included collecting Shirley Temple memorabilia, growing roses and enjoyed them so much that she named her daughter for the Mirandy Rose. Her family said that she was a great story teller, had a very charismatic personality and would never leave for work in the morning without asking her children “Who loves you most of all?” She would wait for them to reply, “Jesus” and then kiss them and tell them that she loved them also.
Her sister, Willene Davis Norman, passed away just a few weeks ago.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Hanks; daughter, Miranda Christensen, and son, Freddie Randall Hanks; brothers, Curtis Davis, Perry Davis, B.L. Davis, Claude Davis, all of Lincolnton and Clyde Davis of Tignall; sisters, Juanita Stewart of Lincolnton, and Barbara Lathren of Calhoun, Ga.
Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Vivian Hanks
