Thomson, GA - Sue Lee Evans, 87, entered into rest March 1, 2019 at her residence.

Sue Lee Evans was born in Louann, Arkansas, in 1932. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Lee and the late Leona Bedsole Lee. Following graduation from DeQuincy High School in DeQuincy, Louisiana,  she attended Northeastern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where she studied Music. She lived in DeRidder, Louisiana, DeQuincy, Louisiana, Beaumont, Texas, Houston, Texas, Friendswood, Texas, and Thomson, Georgia.  In her early career, she worked at Ingersoll in Beaumont, Texas. She served as Organist at Friendswood United Methodist Church in Friendswood, Texas, for over 25 years. She was an excellent pianist and singer, and started playing the piano at age four. Sue loved to sing and harmonize with her cousins whenever they got together for a visit. She played for countless church events, weddings, funerals, and community events in Friendswood, Texas, and she also had a Piano Studio for private lessons. She taught piano for 25 years in Friendswood, Texas.  Sue served as a leader of FORP (a group for Senior citizens) at Friendswood United Methodist Church. She loved to participate in campaigning for city politicians in Friendswood, Texas, and many times made up songs for the campaigns for city officials. She has been a member at Thomson First United Methodist Church in Thomson, Georgia, for thirteen years, and was a member of the JOY Sunday School Class.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Thomson First United Methodist Church, Thomson, Georgia, with Reverend Ronny Brannen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. There will also be a Memorial Service held at Friendswood United Methodist Church, Friendswood, Texas, at a later date to be announced.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Thomson First United Methodist Church in Thomson, Georgia.
