Steven Randall Ferguson, Sr., 67, of Augusta passed away February 18, 2019 surrounded with love.

Steve was born in Huntington, WV to Alethia Ferguson and the late Leo Ferguson. After graduating ASI High School in 1969 and attending Piedmont College, Steve moved to the CSRA. He married Terry (Partridge) 28 years ago and settled in Thomson, GA. He is survived by his mother, wife, daughters Jennifer (Adam) Hart, Joy ( Charlie) Bowles and sons Justin Ferguson (Nicole) and Matthew Ferguson, sister Sandy Landrum (Tommy), brother Marc Ferguson and several grandchildren. Steve is preceded in death by his son Steven R. Ferguson, Jr., brother Mike Ferguson and his father. Steve had a lifelong love of music beginning with learning to play the drums and singing at an early age. This led him to a career with various groups including recording artists The Southern Comfort Band. His desire to entertain through music gave him opportunities to DJ weddings, parties, and on radio. Steve has been a voice in radio for over 30 years. His commitment to music and community garnered him multiple awards and recognition both locallyand nationally. He was a friend to so many and loved by all.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 21st from 6pm-8pm at Beggs Funeral Home. The funeral will take place Friday, February 22nd at 3pm Beggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the GoFundMe.com account set up in Steve's honor.
