Russell Richards
Thomson, Georgia-Mr. Russell Richards, 77, of Luke Rd. entered into rest October 29, 2017.
Mr. Richards was born in Warren County, GA and was the son of the late Leonard Cody Richards and the late Lucille Thigpen Richards. He lived most of his life in McDuffie County, worked at Kingsley Mill for 25 years and was the co-owner of Richards’ Flowers and Gifts. Mr. Richards enjoyed fishing at Briar Creek and Rocky Comfort Creek. He also enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richards was predeceased by a brother, Lamar Richards and grandson, Drake Widener.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Richards; son, Mark Richards (Teresa); daughters, Bonnie Widener (Skipper) and Jennifer Rodeheaver (Chad) ; sisters, Joyce Hinton, and Roslyn Johnson; brother, Johnny Richards; grandchildren, Harris Richards (Crystal), Brenton Widener (Courtney), Will Richards, Colson Avant, Cayden Avant, Elise Grace Rodeheaver; great great grandchildren, Noah Widener, Little Russell Richards and Titus Widener.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
