Roy E. Clemmons

Thomson, GA- Mr. Roy E. Clemmons, 80, entered into rest on August 7, 2019 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Clemmons, longtime resident of McDuffie had also lived in Taliaferro County for many years, was the son of the late James William Clemmons and the late Ola Jones Clemmons.  He graduated from A. H. Stephens High School, worked for the Georgia State Patrol, was a retired courier with Regions Bank and Queensborough Bank, and a past member of the Thomson Jaycees.  Mr. Clemmons enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, cows, tractors, and loved to sing.  He was a Trail Boss with the Bartram Trail Horse Club and a member of Young Memorial United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Clemmons was predeceased by his wife, Ann Fennell Clemmons.

Survivors include his son, Joe  Clemmons (Patti) of Crawfordville, GA; daughter, Toni Roland (Mike) of Thomson, GA; sisters-in-law, Victoria Clemmons of Brooklet, GA, Pat Kearney (Robert) of Flowery Branch, GA, Ellen Fennell of Crawfordville, GA and Nancy Fennell of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Daniel Roland (Ashleigh), Tara Holley (Josh), Alicia Smith (Michael) and, Allison Bradford (Racy); and great grandchildren, Sean Roland, Rhett Holley, Dylan Smith, Reese Smith, Beckett Smith, Michael Bradford, and Makayla Bradford.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,  August 10, 2019 at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Thomson Health and Rehab and Alliance Hospice for the care given to their loved one.
