Mr. Rufus Eugene “Gene” Bohler, 74 of Tignall Rd. entered into rest on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Bohler, son of the late Rufus Aubrey and Sammie Lean Fain Bohler, was born in Lincoln County, and had served in the US Army National Guard. He owned Bohler Monument Company, which mainly specialized in sandblast carving. The excellent detail and quality in his carving was well known in the granite industry. The thousands of monuments that he carved are a testimony to his craftsmanship. For anyone that knew him well, there was no doubt that he was diehard Red Devil football fan. His wife, Cynthia Evans Bohler, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Adam Bohler and wife Elizabeth; daughters, Amy B. Harkins and husband Jimmy; Ashley B. Cox and husband Shaun; sister, Julia “Judy” B. Thornton; grandchildren, Samantha Harkins, Aubrey Cox, Nicklaus Harkins, Andrew Harkins, Annabel Cox, Peyton Bohler, Hagen Harkins, Joshua Cox and James Cox.
