Mrs. Mary Smith McIntosh departed this Earth to reside with her Saviour on February 20, 2018. She was a beloved daughter, friend, aunt, wife and mother. At the time of her passing, Mrs. McIntosh was a resident of White Oak Manor in Lancaster, South Carolina. Mrs. McIntosh is survived by her son, Al McIntosh, his wife, Deborah and their children, Jake and Faye, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McIntosh was born May 5, 1932, one of seven children of the late Reuben Clark Smith, Sr. and the late Louise Bussey Smith. She was the widow of William “Bill” Guilford McIntosh, Sr. She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, John Bussey Smith and Reuben Clark Smith, Jr.; and four sisters, Martha S. Boyd, Bobbie Ann Hanberry, Nancy S. Denison and Jessie S. Britt
Mrs. McIntosh retired from Family Dollar in Matthews, North Carolina and returned to her home town of Lincolnton, GA. She was a long term member of Lincolnton Baptist Church. She loved her town, her Church, her friends, and her family. Her passing will be deeply mourned by many.
The Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mary Smith McIntosh will be held on Sunday, February 25 at 3:00 pm at Lincolnton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Lincolnton Baptist Church from 2:00 pm until the hour of the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Home Health Care and Hospice of Lancaster.
The family would like to offer its most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Home Health Care and Hospice of Lancaster for their loving care of Mrs. McIntosh, both while she resided with her son’s family as well as when she was living at White Oak Manor.
