Louise Banks Obituary

Mrs. Louise Watt Banks, 81 of Bethany Church Rd., Lincolnton, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Banks, daughter of the late Walter and Thelma Speed Watt, was a native of Jefferson, Alabama and grew up in Forkland. She and her husband Ray had travelled all over the southeast while he was working in construction as a heavy equipment operator. After her children were born, she stayed in Lincolnton to raise them, later became a beautician and operated Louise’s Beauty Shop for the past 31 years. Louise was very talented and mastered many things including crafting, making jewelry, painting landscapes, florals and portraits. In addition, she loved writing and had published a few children’s books. In years past, she had attended Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Sue Warren; brothers, Walter Watt, and Leon Watt and sister, Margaret Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Johnnie Ray Banks; daughter, Linnie B. Swint of Thomson; son, John Paul Banks of Evans; grandchildren, Drew Wright, Jennifer Roe, Gary Warren, Alan Wright, Ashley B. Swain, Joshua Banks, Tyler Banks, and Emily Banks; great- grandchildren, Evan Roe, Delaney Roe, Landry Kate Swain, and Ellison Swain.

The family will receive friends at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton on Wednesday, August 28th from 5pm until 7pm with a time of remembrance immediately following.
