Kellie Cecil “K.C.” Stevens
Thomson, GA. – Dr. Kellie Cecil “K.C.” Stevens, 85, entered into rest January 2, 2019.
Dr. Stevens was born in Tifton, GA, the son of the late Kellie Cecil Stevens, Sr. and the late Hettie Lee Stevens. He grew up in Irwinville, GA and after graduation worked at SRS, but was called into ministry in 1968. Dr. Stevens was a founding member of Martinez Baptist Church, pastored at Central Baptist Church in Augusta, GA from 1968 until 1971, founded and pastored Trinity Baptist Church for 42 years (1972-2014). After retirement the title of “Pastor Emeritus” was granted to Dr. Stevens from Trinity Baptist Church. He was most recently a member of Second Baptist Church in Thomson, GA.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Bobbie Duckworth Stevens; daughter, Wanda Hensley (Bill) of Martinez, GA; sons, David Stevens (Lindia) of Grovetown, GA and Michael Stevens of Warrenton, GA (Lula Floyd, companion, Martinez, GA); 4 grandchildren; Leslie Barron, Ashley Kresckay, Ericka Gilstrap, and Kellie Aguilar; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and honorary family member, Jim Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Moore, Rev. Mike Adams and Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m., at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
