Joseph Dewitt Easler
Mr. Joe Easler, a faithful servant of God, went to his heavenly home July 4, 2018, at the age of 79. He served as Sunday School teacher and deacon for most of his adult life. More importantly, he lived daily in a manner that reflected the teachings of Jesus. He shared his faith in a humble yet profound way.
"Uncle Joe," as he was known by many, was a skilled cabinet maker for over 60 years. Insisting on the highest quality work and honoring his word were standards he refused to compromise . Pleasing the customer was more important to him than "making money." He will be remembered for his honesty and integrity by all who worked with him.
Mr. Easler is survived by his one and only true love, Charlotte Rhodes Easler. As husband and wife, they shared life's joys and trials for 61 years. Joe and Charlotte have three surviving children: Steven J. Easler, Timothy N. Easler, and Shiela Easler Hall; six grandchildren: Michael Gutierrez, Rebekah Easler, Daniel Easler, John Coleman, Clayton Hall, Carson Hall. In addition, he will be missed by his adoring great grandchildren.
A native of McDuffie County, Mr. Easler was the son of widowed Mary Luke Easler. He was preceded in death by his four brothers: James Frank Jr., Edgar Louis, William Clinton, Baxter Riley.
