Thomson, GA. - Mr. Horace Lamar Hardy, 73, entered into rest April 12, 2018.

Mr. Hardy was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and the son of the late Pierce Lamar Hardy and the late Mildred Estelle Buffington Hardy. He attended Thomson High School and in 1976 he placed 2nd in the National Field Archery Association Competition and won the 1976 Governor’s Trophy in Florida. Mr. Hardy was a 5 times SE Champion in archery. Mr. Hardy was a building contractor for many years and retired from J. W. Ivey and Associates in Evans, GA. He had many interests including playing drums in a band and loved hunting, fishing, music, and photography. Mr. Hardy was also a member of the Thomson Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl Hardy Milford.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Diane Jobes Hardy; daughters, Jennifer Hogan (Stacy) of Martinez, GA, and Lora Christian (Eric) of Deatsville, AL; loving brother-in-law, Mel Jobes of Thomson, GA; 5 grandchildren, Gabriel Hogan, Eli Hogan, Hannah Hogan, Olivia Christian, and Andrew Christian; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Matt Shelton officiating.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomson Church of Christ, 1609 Whiteoak Rd., Thomson, GA 30824.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
