Herman McTier
Thomson, Georgia- Mr. Herman McTier, 82, of Cedar Creek Drive, entered in rest May 6, 2017.
Mr. McTier was born in Jefferson County, GA to the late Macon McTier and the late Myrtice Smith McTier. He served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Rigel during the Korean Conflict and was the owner and operator of McTier Used Auto Parts for over 50 years. Mr. McTier had a passion for football and stock car racing and was inducted into the Augusta International Raceway Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Tholene Hobbs McTier; son, Tony McTier (Ann); daughter, Dianne Womble (Russell); brother, Max McTier (Debra); sister, Barbara Bryant (Gerald) and grandchildren, Whitney McTier and Hunter Williams all of Thomson, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
