Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late Charles P. and Lizzie Weeks White, was born in McCormick on April 25, 1929. She and her husband, the late Leonard M. Brown, Jr., lived in many places during his career in the US Navy including Roanoke, Virginia where they resided for many years before returning to McCormick in the early 1990’s. She was a homemaker, a member of Republican United Methodist Church and attended McCormick First Baptist Church in recent years. “Aunt Helen”, as she was affectionately known by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in McCormick was a beautiful lady when she was young. With the passing years her beauty grew and her age had no effect on her fashionable taste. She enjoyed her flower garden and loved making ceramics. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her son, Leonard Marshall Brown, III, sisters, Olivia W. Goff, Louise W. Barnett and half brother, William White.
Survivors include her grandson, James Marshall Brown and grand-daughter, Tambra Downs, great- granddaughter, Mallory Lauren Brown and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs, Brown may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Helen W. Brown.
