Hattie McTier Hobbs

Dearing, GA – Mrs. Hattie Mae McTier Hobbs, 90, entered into rest November 08, 2019 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Warren County, and had lived in Dearing her entire adult life. She was retired from food service with the McDuffie County Board of Education. Mrs. Hobbs was a life long member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where she was active in the Red Hat Society and the Social Committee. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Hobbs, infant son Mark Hobbs, daughter Cynthia H. Robins, and her parents Hulon B. McTier and Estelle Phillips McTier Kitchens.

Survivors include her son-in-law, William B. Robins, Sr., and four grandchildren, Brad Robins (Nicki), Dearing, Yvonne Robins Cox (Timothy), Houston, TX, Cynthia Robins Hammer (Christopher), Washington, D.C., Tiffany Robins Shumake, Dearing. Two brothers; Lindy McTier (Jan), Evans, and Morris McTier, Dearing. Survivors also include eleven great-grandchildren, Will Robins (Casey), Allie and McKayla Robins, Jonathon Cox, Courtney Stiles (Cameron), and Savannah Cox, Shelby and Reagan Hammer, Sierra, Chole, and Noelle Shumake, two great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at Beggs Funeral Home.
