Haskell Shelton “Whit” Whittington, Jr.
Thomson, GA – Mr. “Whit” Whittington, Jr., 65, entered into rest July 12, 2018.
Mr. Whittington was born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, the son of Haskell Shelton Whittington, Sr. and Elizabeth Young Whittington. “Whit” was a long-time resident of Thomson and a member of First Baptist Church. He worked with the Georgia State Patrol for many years and as a Radiology Technician at the VA Hospital. “Whit” loved tennis and animals.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathy Whittington; daughters Jennifer W. Giles (Jonathan Lee) and Shellie W. Smith (Patrick Allen); grandchildren, Tyler Giles, Caylee Giles, Chloe Smith, and Jacob Shelton Smith; brother-in-law, Andrew Whitfield; and nephews, David Whitfield and Daniel Whitfield.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Bowers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
