Mrs. Dorothy Estelle Kattegat, 58 of Oak Ridge Rd., Lincolnton, Ga. was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 8, 2018.
Mrs. Kattegat, a native of New Brunswick, NJ, had lived in Augusta before moving to Lincoln County 17 years ago. She retired from Kennametal Industries as a production machinist and was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife and mother who always put others first, especially family. To her many “adopted children”, she was known for her good cooking. She also had a love for animals.
Her family includes her husband of 30 years, Ray Kattegat, son, Travis Kattegat and his fiancée Kerrie Crookham. She considered many as her “adopted children” and they include Kyle Fox, Edie Fox, Kyle Woodall, Hoyt Woodall, Seth Clark, Keith Jones, Nic Stopher, Jacob Richardson, Robert Storey, Carol Miller, Ron Miller, Jess Garlewicz, James Allardice, Brianne Allardice, Patricia Allen, Kenny Miller, Sarah Waggoner, Tina Coffey, Kim Conlon, Veronica Dee, McKenzie Brown. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Garlewicz, cousin Dalton Thrush, mother in law Renee Kattegat, mother in law Else McCall, aunt Penny Furmanski, cousin Julia Cox.
A date for a celebration of life will be announced later.
