Mr. Boyce Butler, 79 of Augusta entered into rest on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 3 pm at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton. Interment will follow in the Lincolnton City Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Butler, son of the late Harmon and Eloise Bohler Butler, was born in Lincoln County on January 3, 1940. He grew up in Lincolnton and graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1958. Afterwards, he graduated from Mercer Pharmaceutical College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science. He spent most of his career in the Atlanta area and retired from Dekalb County Community Health. Following retirement, he moved back to Augusta to be near his family. He attended Rosemont Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Butler Bentley.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Reed and husband Joey of Waynesboro, Molly Quarles and husband Jeff of Harlem; son, David Butler and wife Theresa of Warrenton; sister, Iris Luckey and husband Sammy of Thomson; grandchildren, Michael Walden and wife Ashley, Elyse Nelson and husband Ben, Cory Glosson, Colby Glosson, and Cassy Glosson; caregiver and friend, Earl Challender and godchildren, Samuel Challender and Leonard Challender; 11 great- grandchildren.
