Bobby Kenneth Kitchens
Gibson, GA-Mr. Bobby Kitchens, 90, of Gibson, GA entered into rest November 15, 2018.
Mr. Kitchens lived most of his life in Glascock County and was the son of the late Horace H. Kitchens and the late Velma Dye Kitchens. At the beginning of his career he worked for the Louisville and Waynesboro Police Department, served as a deputy with Jefferson County Sheriffs Department from 1961-1962 and served as Chief of Police for the Gibson Police Department from 1970-1990. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and enjoyed going to the Flea Market. Mr. Kitchens was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kitchens was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth Wayne Kitchens and John Kitchens.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Eulawynne Kitchens; sons, Billy Frank Kitchens (Linda) of Hephzibah, Dean Reese of Gibson; daughters, Barbara Sharpe (Jerry)of Waynesboro, Sue Martin (Luther) of Hephzibah; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Mitchell Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Thompson and Rev. Mary Griswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mitchell City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Williams, Lamar Baxley, Craig Davis, Levy Swint, Stacey Kitchens and Jim Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers will be Glascock County Sheriffs Department, David Bales, Dean Couch, Anthony Griswell, Bobby Jones, Gerald Sammons and Kendall Chalker.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
