Billy Wilkinson
Thomson, Georgia- Mr. Willie “Billy” Wilkinson, 83, of North Avenue, entered into rest at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation, August 6, 2017.
Mr. Wilkinson was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, GA. He was the son of the late George Washington Wilkinson and the late Jessie Smith Wilkinson. He worked as a maintenance inspector for Kingsley Mill for 47 years. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where he served as an usher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Marion Wilkinson.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Delores Brooks Wilkinson; son, Keith Wilkinson (Karen) of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Terri Blackburn of Thomson, GA; three grandchildren, Jenifer Hammond (Jon) and Brad Ewest (Melissa) of Thomson, GA and Kyle Blackburn (Tessa) of Grovetown, GA; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Butch Baston and Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Brooks, Mark Hadden, Arnold Newsome, Brad Ewest, Kyle Blackburn, and Jon Hammond. Members of the C.D. Cason Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
It is the family’s desire that memorial contributions be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1606 Wrens Highway, Thomson, GA 30824.
