Anna Belle Ivey
Decatur, GA – Miss Anna Belle Ivey, 92, entered into rest January 11, 2019.
Anna Belle Ivey grew up in Camak, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Thomas Lazrus Ivey and the late Essie Belle Parham Ivey. Following graduation from Warrenton High School, she attended St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Atlanta, where she studied Nursing, and the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She lived in Atlanta and Decatur most of her life and retired in 1993 from Crawford Long Hospital (now Emory Midtown) after 41 years of distinguished service. She was an avid bridge player and traveled extensively, visiting every continent except Antarctica. She attended Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Decatur.
Survivors include great-nephews, Bert Purvis (Laura) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jay Holland (Denise) of Woodstock, Georgia; great-nieces, Jennifer Cooke (Preston) of Dearing, Georgia and Jan Keith of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and many cherished friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Ronny Brannen officiating.
