Thomson, GA – Mr. Alton Ray Gheesling, 82, of Neal Street, entered into rest November 03, 2018.

Mr. Gheesling grew up in Warren County and was the son of the late Frank Gheesling and the late Ruth Thompson Gheesling. He lived most of his life in Thomson, Georgia and retired as a supervisor from Kingsley Mill after forty-four years of service. Mr. Gheesling enjoyed hunting, fishing, and repairing things. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Jeff Gheesling and a grandson; Jax Gheesling.

Survivors include his son, Alan Gheesling (Jennie) of Thomson; sister, Cornelia Courtney of Charlottesville, VA; and grandchildren,  Melissa Gheesling, Evan Gheesling, Ivey Gheesling, and Ryan Gheesling and two great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 07, 2018 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
