Marvin Leroy Bowman

Marvin Leroy Bowman, 82, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2024.

He was born in Elm Springs, South Dakota on June 23, 1941, grew up in Elm Springs, after graduation in 1960 joined the U.S. Army and retired after more than 20 years of service and having the opportunity to travel to many different duty stations, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and came to live in Thomson in 1981.  Marvin enjoyed golf and spending time with his family and friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta L. Bowman and Alice Elizabeth Fenner Bowman and his brothers David Bowman, Lyle Bowman and Richard Bowman.  His survivors include his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Myers Bowman; his sons, Larry Bowman (Joan) and Lee Bowman (Lorie); his brother, Jimmy Bowman; his sister, Mary Alice Cudmore (Bill) and his grandchildren, Kathy Bowman, Chelsea Bowman and Larry Dean Bowman, Jr.
