John David Field, Jr., passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024, in Lincolnton, Georgia, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 14, 1959, in South Hampton, New York, John was the son of the late John David Field, Sr. and Joan Stefani. Most of his childhood years were spent in San Jose, California.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he settled in Boulder, Colorado, where he established himself as a skilled general contractor. In 1983, he found his way to Lincolnton, Georgia, where he continued to work with his hands as a housing framer before dedicating nearly 15 years to maintenance work at Elijah Clark State Park.
An outdoorsman, John was happiest when he was crappie fishing on the lake, with the tranquility of nature as his companion. He was always tinkering and repairing things and was incredibly handy at home and at the park.
John was an avid NASCAR fan and Dale Earnhardt still remained his favorite driver.
Left to honor John's legacy are his loving wife, Vickie Lambert Field; his devoted children, Rebecca F. Evans of Holly Springs, Georgia, Shawn Roberts of Millen, and John Michael Field of Lincolnton; his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his sisters, Renee Powell of Arvada, Colorado, and Francine Stauffer of Princeton, Minnesota.
As we bid farewell to John David Field, Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by service, dedication, and the simple joys that make life worth living. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will continue to guide us through the cherished memories we hold dear.
At his request, no service of any type is planned.
