Harold Caldwell Proctor Obituary

McDuffie County

Mr. Harold Caldwell Proctor, 73, of Boneville, Georgia, left his earthly home to join his Savior in Heaven on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

He was born in Washington, Georgia on November 25, 1950, but more importantly, he was BORN AGAIN in 1974 when he trusted CHRIST as his own personal Savior.  He faithfully attended Antioch Baptist Church, Harlem, Georgia, and was a member there for 41 years.  He dearly loved his former pastor, Dr. Ronald Young, and his present pastor, Pastor David Young.  One of his passions was to help his church by finding bargains or ways to help with needs.  He also enjoyed maintaining appliances and HVAC system at the church for over 30 years.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Caldwell Proctor and Rosa Irene Hadden Proctor; his brother, Donnie Proctor; and grandson, Victor Lee Higdon, Jr.  He was a loving husband to his wife, Winnie Gunn Proctor, who faithfully stood by his side “in sickness and in health.”  She was his sweetheart of 50 years, and he was a kind and loving father to his son, Travis Proctor (Caroline) and his daughter, Tiffani Holley (Steven).  His family was very important to him, and some of his greatest joys were spent with his grandchildren.  He was a wonderful Papa who loved to spoil his grandchildren, Jason Manning (Emily), Kasey Brooks (Shawn), Trevor Manning, Bethany Proctor, Joanna Proctor, Jacey Proctor, Seth Proctor, Adalyn Dempsey and Becky Proctor and his great grandchildren, Hudson and Hatcher Brooks, Atlee Jo Manning and Aliza Higdon.

He was a quiet and meek man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  His love of fishing was one of his favorite pastimes which he passed down to his family.  He also enjoyed metal scrapping and shopping for bargain toys he fixed up to resell (The Toy Man).  He loved being able to buy Wendy’s Frosty coupons to share with his family and whole church family.

Harold did commercial HVAC and appliance repair for over 40 years.  At the time of his passing, he was still employed by Mike Iezzi at Wendy’s Restaurant as maintenance supervisor.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 723 W. Milledgeville Road, Harlem, Georgia.  His funeral service celebrating Harold’s homegoing will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church, being officiated by Pastor David Young and Pastor Emeritus Ronald Young.
