Glascock County
Craig Usry, 63, Gibson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest while at his home on March 31, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife and children.
Craig was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 10, 1960. He grew up, went to school, lived, and loved his life in Glascock County. He was a lifelong resident and raised his family in the same area where he was raised. Craig loved the small-town life and values which he also instilled in his children. He was a proud “Son of the South.” Craig enjoyed the outdoors: golfing, hunting (especially bow hunting), and fishing. He also loved road trips out West and to Daytona Beach. Craig enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was afflicted with a love for Alabama football. Craig worked 34 years for Resolute Forest Products (Augusta Newsprint). He was a lifelong member of Magnolia Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Gary Usry, and his brother, Gary “Stan” Usry (Debra). His survivors include his wife of 43 years, Vicky Toulson Usry; his mother Frances Elizabeth Tillman; his son, Dustin Craig Usry (Alicia); his daughter, Heather Raley (William), his grandchildren, Hunter McNair, William McNair, Layla Usry and Sophie Raley; and his nieces and nephews.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Regency Hospice Services of Augusta. They would also like to send a special thanks to Madison White, Courtney Middleton, and caretaker Tammy Chewning for their compassionate care and support of Craig and his family.
His visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia, and his funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Magnolia Baptist Church, 3406 Magnolia Church Road, Gibson, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family’s personal guestbook.
