My heart just broke today when I learned of Sheriff Bentley's passing. He was one of the few men that I have always liked and respected. Even after he was no longer our sheriff, I have always called him Sheriff Bentley out of respect. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand in any way he could. I will miss running in to Dory and him at Walmart or out about town. We need more men in this world like Sheriff Bentley. I know he will be missed by so many, and I am one of them. I pray for comfort and strength for Dory and the family.

Sorry to hear of Sheriff Bentley's passing. First met Sheriff Bentley in Sheriff's training back in 1984 where I got to know the man and grew to respect him. Saw him a few times over the years, still the same man. Good solid reputation amongst the law enforcement community. Could use a few more like Sheriff Bentley these days. Sympathy to the Bentley family.

Respectfully,
Stan Evans
Jackson County Sheriff (Retired)
